As a member of the Campus Testing Team and the Campus Technology Liaison, one of my duties is to help teachers prepare devices for PSAT, district benchmarks, and state assessments (Interims, TELPAS, and STAAR). To keep them running smoothly, Chromebook periodically needs to be "wiped." Wiping a Chromebook, also known as power washing, allows you to reset the device by clearing all local user data stored on a ChromeOS device by switching to developer mode and then switching back to normal mode.

Typically, an Enterprise Chromebook is wiped from the lock screen by pressing Esc + Refresh + Power Button, as seen in the demonstration below.

We recently acquired four carts of the new HP G7 Touchscreen Chromebooks, and we quickly discovered that the steps for wiping these new devices are very different. Please see the video I created using Canva EDU.
